EPA Catchment Management Network Conference, 11 October 2019
The EPA are hosting the Catchment Management Network Conference on 11 October 2019 in the Tullamore Court Hotel.
The day long conference has a great line up of speakers, including PMPs Derek McLoughlin who will make a presentation entitled “The Pearl Mussel Project European Innovation Project (EIP): developing a results-based agri-environment programme”.

PMP Annual Report May 2018 – June 2019 published
The Pearl Mussel Project has published its first annual report covering the period May 2018 to June 2019.
The report summarises the work undertaken by the project team during the first year of the project. The main achievement after the first year is the development and roll-out of the Pearl Mussel Programme (PMP), a results-based payment scheme designed for farming within sensitive freshwater pearl mussel catchments.

BEAM (Beef Exceptional Aid Measure) scheme extended to midnight on Sunday, September 15
PMP farmers - please note that the deadline for applications to the €100m BEAM (Beef Exceptional Aid Measure) scheme has been extended to midnight on Sunday, September 15.
Under the scheme, aid will be paid on suckler cows that calved in 2018, at a rate of €40 per animal, up to a maximum of 40 sucklers per herd.
Also aid will be paid on adult cattle slaughtered between September 24, 2018, and May 12, 2019, at a rate of €100 per animal, up to a maximum of 100 finished animals per herd.
To be accepted in the scheme, applicant farmers must commit to reducing the level of bovine livestock manure nitrogen per farm by 5%.
